The present issue of our Festival is dedicated to honour the life and work of its founder, Maestro Juan Blanco and to celebrate the 30 years of existence of Laboratorio Nacional de Música Electroacústica (National Laboratory of Electroacústic Music). Within this framework will also be taking place the Conference of the UNESCO's International Confederation of Electroacustic Music, which will also participate in the festival's concerts. In our site you will be able to obtain the information about the program of activities of our event and about the venues where it will take place. Besides, other related information are included.
Our Festival first appeared in the year of 1981 as a result of the efforts of Maestro Juan Blanco for giving to our country an event which was to be a meeting place for the most advanced of electroacustic and electronic music in the worl, permitting the exchange of ideas of the Cuban composers with the ones from abroad. First named as "Primavera en Varadero", the Festival had place in the homonimous beach until 1993. After a five year recess it reopened its gates in its new venue: Centro Histórico de La Ciudad de La Habana (Historic Quarter of Havana City), taking its current name. Since then, tens of prestigous composers have honoured our event with their attendance. Our Festival is biennial.
