Fernando "Archi" Rodríguez
Fernando “Archi” Rodríguez Alpízar. He was born on September 21, 1958,  in Matanzas, Cuba. He studied harmony, counterpoint, analysis and compostition with North American composer Federico Smith, as well as  Composition applied to Electronics at the Laboratorio Nacional de Música Electroacústica( National Electroacoustic Music Laboratory) in Havana, under composer Juan Blanco. He is a Music Major graduate from National School of Arts and especialized in Composition. He was a teacher in the National School of Music and in the High Institute of Arts in Havana. As a composer, he has taken part in all the issues of  the International Electroacoustic Music Festival in Cuba, from 1981 to 2006, as well as in the II Encounter Cuba-Mexico held in Mexico City in 1984. EGREM label recorded his works El otro huevo de la serpiente and Plegarias, and his music has been played in various concerts. He has composed for theater, dance, cinema and TV. His papers on music have been published in different issues and has lectured on in Cuba and USA. He is a member of the UNEAC.
